I'm so happy to be a part of M24--the women are all intelligent, interesting, have lots of hobbies and interests and most of all FUN!!!!

You ladies make my pregnancy bearable even when it seems like it's not going to get any easier!

8 months!

Whoa,
I can't believe it! I'm at the 8 month mark. I'm settling into my new size and new belly. My shoes of choice are my dansko clogs. I can't seem to wear anything else so, I don't even try!

This weekend--trek back to IKEA, get either the bookcase or armoire and finish the baby room. Get white frames and hang everything up!

Breastfeeding...

Well, I went to my first breastfeeding class and learned a lot things. Most importantly though that breastfeeding should not hurt---at all! It is normal to have some tenderness but if you nipples hurt at all you're doing it wrong. Whew! Well, that's a relief because everything I've heard from other people about how much it hurts and how painful it is does not necessarily have to apply to me!

I learned:
1.) Early-feed early--even soon after delivery in a 2-hour window when you're baby is alert because after that the baby will sleep for a long time. (Delivery is hard!)
2.) Often- Feed as often as 1-1.5 hours around the clock
3.) Thoroughly-Make sure that the baby gets latched on "nose-to-nipple"
4.) Full diapers-this is proof that you're baby is getting enough milk
5.) Make Noise! ---if things are not working out then contact a lactation consultant on the web at www.ilca.org or www.lalecheleague.org for breastfeeding support.

The baby should have 1 wet/1 soiled diaper for every 24 hours outside the womb
ex.) Day 2-2/wet/soiled, 3-3wet/3soiled, 4/4wet/soiled etc...

Getting the bag ready for the hospital

excerpted from babycenter.com:
This Week's Activity:

You don't need to pack your bag yet, but start making a list of items to bring to the hospital. Besides a change of clothes and a toothbrush, some items to include:
• A photograph or object to focus on during labor
• Snacks to keep your energy up and gum or mints for bad breath
• Cozy socks and slippers
• Your favorite pillow
• Some light reading material
• A nursing nightie and nursing bra
• A going-home outfit for your baby
• A camera or camcorder, fresh batteries, and film, if necessary

I've also read to bring some bottled water, a going home outfit for yourself, make sure that the baby seat has been fitted for the car and you've practiced how to do it.

We're all getting very very close!

Yenna!

We just got the 3/D images for little baby Yesawich. Please take a look!

Ah-juss-shee...

Well, I couldn't find my "round the house dress" so I had to settle on this maternity tank top, john's lobster boxers and a pair of shortie leopard print socks. John calls this my ah-juss-shee (An ah-juss-shee is a poorly dressed, middle-aged Korean man)look. So stunning. How far I've come in my fashion prowess.

The nursery is coming together!

Well, the nursery is finally coming together. The look is cream and mauve with touches of pewter. I want to pull together a "classic" look without going too pink or baby gaga mode. I'm enjoying putting it all together. I don't know if JP is enjoying assembling everything.

I'm still contemplating what we should get as far as a rug, armoire and possible a small bookcase.

I can't believe little Yesawich is coming!!!

our current babies...

Christmas Smock, PA with Harwood and Sally!

Well, now that we've swung into the New Year... Happy New Year! I'm tired but I got a lot finished today--bought the crib, sheet and matching valance set, mattress and we're going to get the dresser and display case tomorrow from buybuybaby.com and IKEA. Though I loath IKEA there is one piece that will go very well with our stuff so, I'm quite excited about that.

I'm feeling a lot better since my back incident but as I'm barrelling towards the finish line I still feel a nagging suspicion that it's not all going to get finished.

Harry and Winnie are getting needier and needier and jumping into our laps more and more and it worries me.

Halmsee!

Halmsee is excited about Baby Yesawich! I'm getting excited too but am not ready at all with anything. No crib, no registry, no baby stuff.

Yikes.

Gotta get with the program!
