STILL AWAKE!

Hmmm. well, the baby is flopping from side to side so if I lay on my left side she goes that way and if I lay on my right side she goes that way. She must be MUCHO comfortable because I don't see any signs of her coming out anytime soon.

Tomorrow will be IKEA-FEST with Tina and Matthew! I am sooooooo excited! It should be fun to get a few organizational things for the baby room as well as John and my closet.

Hopefully I can make it seeing that sleep is an elusive matter at this point.

38 weeks and...

NADA! Back hurts and it feels like my butt is about to explode. I don't remember this pain at all from before. It's almost like it's numb down there! It's halloween so we had "take and bake" from Costco along with a nice romaine salad. It was all very tasty. My folks came over and my mom tsked about the clothes I had bought for the baby.

Maybe the last picture of the family of 3??

It was a fun night...we still have so much to do...
1.) clean all the pink bugagoo stuff
2.) clean all the baby clothes and put away
3.) clear out small armoire in the baby room
4.) put up small racks
5.) check monitor to see if it is still working
6.) make returns at Nordstrom
7.) throw away items in the freezer
8.) ....

I need to sleep but I don't see that happening either...

1-2...

So, I think the baby is way head down. I feel very very heavy and also feel the need to go to the bathroom about every 2 minutes. It's very annoying but also very exciting to know that there is a new little person that is coming to our home!

I am really hoping that the delivery goes well. I am going to try for a VBAC but of course the doctors are reluctant to try for something that they are not well-versed in doing. Why are there so many c-sections in this country? There is a network here in NOVA ICAN that tells you what hospitals and what doctors will do a VBAC.

I know that I would like to have more than 2 children so I think that the cumulative c-sections might make that more difficult.

Next...finding a doula

Fall in Charlottesville

Morning on Woodson Lane in Charlottesville

The Charlottesville (c'ville) farmers market is one of the sweetest, tastiest quirkiest farmers markets and I love it. The produce is fresh and there are authentic tacos, donuts and the best coffee you'll have! Here's a few pictures that I took this time around.

The Current NAME LIST

So, it's the fight over the names....AHEM(*#$%&(#$*%&)(#$%&)(#$*%&. has begun AGAIN! SO initially it was going to stick to Beatrice because that's a name that I've been in love with but John said no so we ended up with Yenna. Which I like but wanted to use as a middle name. Her name is Yenna Elizabeth Kim Yesawich and we call her Yenna but my in-laws insist upon Elizabeth which is also her name.

Officially, I would like her name to be English then Korean so we will have to change it legally to:
Elizabeth Yenna Yesawich

I tried to call her, "Bee" but that did not stick. Her current nicknames are: Beanie, Fency, Fence from Fred Fenster (derived from the Benecio Del Toro character in Usual Suspects). We couldn't understand what she was saying for a while and Herman would ask her often, "Can you hear me from the back?" (Old and lame joke that still gets revived in the family).

So, not many names go with Yesawich so here's the current list from me in no particular order that is of course totally unapproved by the husband. *sigh*

Audrey
Emily
Emeline
Evangeline
Elodie
Madeleine
Lucy
Clementine
Beatrice
Emerson
Emery
Gwendolyn
Vivien
Clara
Margaret

Herman has suggested: Hortense and Gertrude.

Beginning of the end...

So, I can tell that this is the beginning of the end. It's 3:33 a.m. and I am wide awake. The baby is moving around...Am I having contractions? Not sure. My mind is racing and I am thinking about the myriad of things that I must do...right away.

1.) Organize storage area and bring up white bins
2.) Make room in closet for John's clothes
3.) Buy bins to put away crafty materials as well as misc in the loft
4.) Find and organize baby clothes
5.) Seal the windows in the study
6.) Buy humidifier for baby room
7.)

I know there is more...there is so much more to think about. I don't know if I actually feel like doing any of these tasks but I know I have to get it done. Soon.

What if this baby comes sooner than later? I know I must be a little bit nervous because I am ripping off my nails like I'm watching a bad horror movie.

Neiman Marcus Fashion Show

Well, somehow...AHEM. The saleslady at NM knew my phone number and email....Of course I have no idea why...and asked if Yenna wanted to be in the fall fashion show. Well, OF COURSE! I have a little toddler and tiara aspirations...so, it was easy to say yes. The rest well...it was just too much fun to be true!

Yenna was already asking when she could be in the next fashion show. I think it'll be spring and honestly...Mama can't wait.

Presenting the gorgeous Kronman Family!

The two gorgeous girls (3, 8 months) were beautiful subjects for this family fun photoshoot. Unfortunately, it was a rainy and cold day so we had to shoot inside the house.

Everyone was excited and enthusiastic and we even got the whole family (including Gentry, the gentle dog) to look at the camera for a picture!

Hopefully, we'll be able to do another shoot outside!

Summer is flying by...

So, summer is flying by...I'm not even sure what we have been doing everyday but I'm going to do my best to recount it because I really won't remember it come fall. Yenna took swimming lessons in July and a few tennis lessons which tapered off. After that, she attended a VBS at our church, Potomac Baptist and then another one at All Nations Church. She seems to enjoy it quite a bit so, we're going to continue with another one this week if we can get in.

We participated in a cooperative playgroup with three other moms and it was very very successful! Yenna's Korean has come a long way and she looks forward to spending time with this group. Hopefully, we will be able to continue in the fall and be able to participate so that she can continue her learning and appreciation of Korean.

I'm not sleeping!!!!!

So, I guess this is the fun 3rd trimester of pregnancy! I am not sleepy, or sleeping. It is almost 4 a.m. and I'm wide awake. It also might have been the coffee I had this morning past 9 a.m. but I digress. This pregnancy has been very different than the first one. The first 3 months I only wanted crackers, white bread and peanut butter and snickers bars.

I couldn't stand the smell of any Asian food---sesame seed oil, the smell of rice cooking, the smell of anything cooking...BLEECH! I had no energy and went to bed at 6 p.m. every night. I don't know how I did it!

Then the second trimester, I have been feeling better! I am craving bread, pizza, more bread, croissants, muffins---you name the carb...It's my friend. I have not gained as much as I did with Yenna but I might get there. (I hope not.)

Yenna's new funny look!

  1. I am enjoying being at home which is surprising!
  2. I like the co-op playgroup I'm currently in but it does get pretty stressful
  3. I am excited about having my second child but crazy scared about it too
  4. WHY AM I STILL AWAKE?

Spam Musubi

So, I was feeling inspired by momofukufor2.com and decided to make Spam musubi for the first time. They turned out okay. I had to cut the bottom of the Spam can to create the mold. That was probably the hardest part. I altered the recipe a bit by adding a bit of seasoning (rice vinegar, Japanese spices and toasted sesame seeds) to the rice. I didn't have sweet soy sauce so I added a tablespoon of sugar to the soy sauce and then cooked the spam in a non-stick pan.

I like the ratio of rice to equal the same thickness as the Spam so there is not too much rice to Spam in the ratio. The first one that I made had WAY too much rice in it detracting from the crunch of the nori to the saltiness of the Spam to the subtle flavor of the rice.

I wonder if I should feel bad that I fed my toddler Spam for the first time
